Looking for a place to stay....

Hi there,

I’m a dancer from Poland and I’m going to SF in November this year to get classes of gothic bellydance from mistress Ariellah. I will spend in US 4 weeks.

I have only one problem, I can’t find a place to stay.
I was looking for on various “find-your-roomate” websites, but without any result.

So maybe you have or know anybody who have a room or even couch for rent in San Francisco or Oakland. I’m able to pay about 400 – 500$ for month.

If you have any info please contact me here.

I’m quiet, non smoking person who just love to dance.

Industrial Middleeastern Dance group, nO thiNg plays Monday the 17th at the BOX in Santa Cruz, California 10 p.m.

My Industrial Middleeastern Dance project, nO thiNg will be
performing a rare live show at the BOX in Santa Cruz this coming
Monday, March 17th.

We will perform from 10-11 and then the J-Synth Goth band, the ROYAL DEAD will
perform immediately afterward (hailing from Osaka, they were one of the headling
groups at the Kobe Underground Festival in Osaka, before changing their name from Phantasmagoria)

nO thiNg is the project of John Connell and myself. We both have extensive professional experience
performing for both belly dance, tribal belly dance and traditional middleeastern musical settings.

John is a wonderful multi-instrumentalist well known for playing Daf and Ney in traditional Persian settings
and will be playing guitar and synthesizer.

I will be playing Distortion Bass,traditional middleeastern percussion, drumset, industrial metal percussion, keyboards,
string instruments, brass, wind instruments and extended vocal techniques and using a lot of live looping to 'clone' myself.

The purpose of this project is to play traditional rhythms with traditional scales in a very minimal and hardhitting way with a heavy
emphasis on INdustrial timbres.

The whole point is to dance, so I hope that some of the areas gothic belly dancers will show up in all their finery to let the Goths know what this small but beautiful movement is about.

How do I.....(cross post)

Hello to everyone :)

How do I make hairpieces from double ended dreads? I want to use butterfly clips, but what else do I do? I want to make sure they (a) don't come out of the clips and (b) they cover said clips, so that when I wear them, they aren't visible and are secure.

I've looked everywhere and the only thing I can find is how to make clips that aren't butterfly, and use wefts (neither of which I use or have).

Please help!!!!

Over the years, these names have stood out deserving top honors in the realm of support: Michelle (DrunkBat), Elena (MisMonster), Namey, Andrew, Miss Blue, Skye, James, Shok, Michael Coleman, Michael Dannov, Shannon, Tiffany & Krieg of DARKWAER CLOTHING, Jeff Zugale, Andrew over at GROUND CONTROL, Randy of BATPACK CASTING, Lucien of DRUNKROCKERS, and so many more. Your enthusiasm and assistance with spreading the word has been a tremendous help that does not go unrecognized.

And don't forget to thank DJ WEDNESDAY when you see her. I may have the web skills, but this girl has the organization skills and gives me a kick in the ass now and then to get shit done. If it wasn't for Wednesday, :WUMPSKATE: would have never happened (or been named ":WUMPSKATE:" for that matter). :P

Also, we have to thank the venue, THE WORLD ON WHEELS. In three years, we've only been stuck without entry twice, and this most recent experience was for a good cause: WE NOW HAVE WOODEN FLOORS TO SKATE ON!!! That's right, they shut down for two whole weeks and put in a glorious wood floor for our skating pleasure. No more concrete, no more serious bruises or injuries!

NOTE: The venue has requested that persons bringing in their own skates and rollerblades, please, please, please no black wheels or stoppers, and you can't have exposed screws that could rip up the new wood floor. Find ways to cover them!

The Eccentrik Festival is a one-day event featuring musicians, DJs, artists, and vendors. The first annual Eccentrik will be held on Saturday, October 23rd in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Brewery and the Cantina.

Spread over these two neighboring venues on Hillsborough Street, the Eccentrik Festival will feature a full day of live music in the Brewery and vendors, artwork, and DJs in the Cantina, with poi (fire-spinning) in the driveway between the two. A burlesque troupe will be featured during one of the DJ sets.

Razed In Black will headline the festival, bringing their blend of hard industrial, coldwave, futurepop and metal to North Carolina for the second time ever.

More Machine Than Man is a multimedia fetish/cyber-goth project featuring performance art as well as guitar-driven industrial dance music.

Opening the live music aspect of the festival will be Raleigh-based electronic duo RJE, an ongoing side project from members of Nomad Project A.V. and enc0der.

Ego Likeness is a female-fronted band out of Baltimore, Maryland that draws comparisons to such diverse groups as Berlin, Concrete Blonde, and Collide.

RED ALL OVER is a female-fronted Charlotte band whose melodic, danceable songs are reminiscent of late-’80s alternative music with a dose of modern European electro-pop.

Oddstar is a self-described "electrogothicspacerock" band from Asheville, North Carolina with an ethereal undercurrent beneath elements of early electronic and darkwave styles. This is a band who could have been at home on the Projekt label, especially during its early days.

Haitian Hate Gods, a self-described industrial funk band out of North Carolina, features female vocals. The band’s sound blends driving industrial floor-stompers and soulful slow numbers.

Clockwerk fuses elements of both dark ambient noise and aggressive industrial experimentalism. The Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based trio are inspired by bands such as Clock DVA, Front 242, and Skinny Puppy.

Raleigh’s own Threshold 6 is a dark electronic band whose sound ranges from fast-paced and danceable to slinky and seductive.

The DJ lineup includes New York City’s DJ Chad Collins as well as a roster of Carolinas DJs that includes DJ Anarathoth, Count Zackula & DJ Konstruct, DJ Kalyx, DJ Kantrip, DJ Nguinn, DJ Scarab, DJ Nareau, DJ Telal, and DJ Zero Anjel.

Items for sale at the vendor tables will include gothic house wares, clothing and accessories, mehendi tattoos, and custom-made fangs.

The Clarion State Capitol is the official hotel of Eccentrik. Rooms are $63 per night; ask for the Eccentrik block of rooms.

Two Ton Flood and The Dead Company have had this on-going discussion of the current state of affairs in the US and the world. A taste of this displeasure is eloquently displayed in TTF's lyrics for God Monger.

Lets face it, the current administration of the US under the guise of patriotism and God have been using fear and intimidation not only on those who oppose the US but also citizens who of the US who speak often of voices of peace and unity. With that in mind, we would like to propose an opportunity for all artist to voice their opinion on any issue that affects you world wide. Considering that this year is an election year in the US, there is no better time to become involved and share your views, express your opinion...that is the strength of the US--and now is not a time to sit this one out... so having said all that here are our thoughts...

Artists who wish to express themselves in such a vain musically can post their song for other artist to listen (probably via soundclick) then we will have a page (site TBD, but we have options w/ SC, TDC, and TTF) )with all the artist, their pics (if ya submit them), a copy of the lyrics, and a brief paragraph of what influenced the artist to write their material. At the moment CGI has one on line home which can be found at www.funender.com.
Consequently, only music hosted at the site can be featured on CGI. But don't let that put you off. There is a free hosting package that will allow you to host three of four songs (depending on size) for free. There are also paid packages with more space and features if you need them. Go to http://www.funender.com/music to find out more.

Finally, let me know once you have your tunes up and running, I will then select suitable tracks for inclusion on the station.
